Stewards of Children - printable flyer
The Stewards of Children training educates adults to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. It is designed for the leadership, staffs and volunteers of child-serving agencies and organizations, as well as parents and grandparents. The curriculum for the three-hour training includes a video, workbook for each participant and group discussion.
This a nationally recognized sexual abuse curriculum developed by Darkness to Light, a non-profit organization in Charleston, South Carolina. Athens County Child Advocacy Center is the sole provider of Stewards of Children curriculum in Athens County. This program shifts the responsibility of preventing sexual abuse from children to adults.
The state of Ohio is currently funding this prevention effort across the state, training facilitators from local Child Advocacy Centers. This support allows us to offer this program for free. Participants will each receive a workbook along with other literature to help our whole community prevent sexual abuse of children.
Certificates of Attendance are provided for those who complete pre and post assessments.
