JOB TITLE:      Executive Director

REPORTS TO:   Board of Directors

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

Directs the day-to-day operations of the Athens County Child Advocacy Center through managing a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to children who are survivors of sexual abuse and their families through coordinated interagency investigation, intervention, education and advocacy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership, management, vision and best practice methods to ensure that the mission and core values of the agency are in practice.
  • Supervises one full time staff member, two part-time contractors, interns and volunteers.
  • Ensures that the ACCAC meets funder and accreditation requirements, which includes but is not limited to maintaining documentation and submitting reports as required.
  • Performs fiscal management of the organization, including but not limited to authorizing bill payments, ensuring that fiscal reports are completed as required and submitted to the Board of Directors for review and approval on a regular basis.
  • Prepares and submits annual draft budget to Board of Directors for approval.
  • Works collaboratively with staff and the Board of Directors.
  • Prepares the agenda for monthly board meetings. Attends all Board meetings and Board committee meetings. Provides information to the Board of Directors as needed.
  • Identifies funding opportunities that align with the agency mission and prepares funding applications as needed.
  • Maintains positive relationships with various stakeholders, including members of the ACCAC’s multidisciplinary team.
  • Attends monthly multidisciplinary meetings. Provides oversight of multidisciplinary team meetings and relationships, case management, community outreach and varied committees.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state and federal mandates and standards as required.
  • Assists in continued quality improvement of protocols, policies and procedures both internally and externally with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Serves as the main media contact and represent the ACCAC in the community through varied committee and public relation engagements to increase awareness of programming, education and advocacy for victims.
  • Coordinates professional training for MDT, ACCAC staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Provides support, information and referral, advocacy and other direct service activities to child abuse victims and their non-offending family members as needed.
  • Maintains membership with the Ohio Network of Children’s Advocacy Center.
  • Maintains accreditation standards set by the National Children’s Alliance.
  • Attends Ohio Network of Children’s Advocacy Center’s membership meetings.
  • Performs other duties as necessary to maintain operations at the Athens County Child Advocacy Center and/or assigned by the Board of Directors.

JOB STATUS: Full time, exempt

EXPECTED HOURS WORKED/WEEK: 40+, some evening and weekend hours required due to needs of the center

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing human and financial resources
  • Ability to work collaboratively with professionals of a variety of disciplines
  • Development/fundraising experience appreciated
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Quickbooks
  • Ability to write grammatically correct routine business correspondence such as letters, meeting minutes, grant submissions and other documents as required.
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
  • Ability to work under high pressure situations while maintaining composure and objectivity.
  • Ability to understand financial information and perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to be flexible, work under pressure

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Four-year college degree required
  • Masters in related field a plus

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Satisfactory criminal background investigation is a condition of employment
