Victim Assistance Services - Athens County

The Athens County Victim Assistance Office provides services for victims in the aftermath of a crime.  Services include:

  • Support
  • Information regarding the criminal justice system and proceedings
  • Information regarding the rights of crime victims
  • Court escort
  • Assistance with victim impact statements
  • Assistance with applying for crime compensation, if eligible
  • Assistance with petitioning for civil protection orders
  • Notification concerning case status and upcoming court dates
  • Information and referral
  • Representation through interaction with court personnel, social service agencies and other victim service personnel
